Power
Fear can be a debilitating emotion when it’s allowed to take us over. There are more than 365 verses written in one way or another, pertaining to not having fear, worry or anxiousness in the Bible. A verse for every day of the year. It’s one of the most often given promises to the people of YHVH. In light of this, when we consider the purpose for the Seven Spirits of YHVH we realize that they are given to us to illuminate the dark recesses of our souls and enable us to “see” the way in which we are to go. But, not only can we “see” the way, within these Spirits, we are also given the Spirit of Power to “walk” in it. Today we will look at verses pertaining to this topic.
2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For Elohim has not given us a spirit of timidity [fear], but of power and love and discipline. [Sound judgment or mind]”
Romans 8:15 says, “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!””
Genesis 26:24 says, “YHVH appeared to him the same night and said, “I am the Elohim of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you, and multiply your descendants, for the sake of My servant Abraham.”
Jeremiah 1:8 says, “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you,” declares YHVH.”
Acts 18:9-11 says, “9 And the Master said to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; 10 for I am with you, and no man will attack you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city.” 11 And he settled there a year and six months, teaching the word of Elohim among them.”
We all have opportunities to overcome fear in our lives. Be comforted today that He desires for us to walk free and the Spirit of Power is one of the ways He’s given us to gain His strength. How do we get filled with His strength? By filling our hearts and minds with the Word. May the verses above give us a jump start in the faith and confidence we need to know that our Father is with us, He’s in control, and is bigger than any fear, worry or anxious issue we encounter.
