Power

When we truly understand the power and strength that we have access to when we are new creations in Messiah, we will then draw on that and not look to ourselves for it.  We were never designed to have it on our own.  We are to draw our strength and power from YHVH our Creator!! We also need to recognize and receive that He often uses those around us as His ambassadors to impart His strength.  May the verses below be engraved in our hearts and minds so that we will be lifted up in the proper power that we’ve been given to use in our everyday life.

Psalm 31:1-5 says,

1  In You, O YHVH, I have taken refuge; let me never be ashamed; In Your righteousness deliver me.
2  Incline Your ear to me, rescue me quickly; be to me a rock of strength
[Power], A stronghold to save me.
3  For You are my rock and my fortressfor Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.
4  You will pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, for You are my strength
[Power].
Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have ransomed me, O YHVH, Elohim of truth.

Psalm 71:3-9 says,

Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress [idiom for strength and protection].
4  Rescue me, O my Elohim, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,
5 For You are my hope; O YHVH Elohim, You are my confidence from my youth.
6  By You I have been sustained from my birthYou are He who took me from my mother’s womb; My praise is continually of You.
7 I have become a marvel to many, for You are my strong refuge
[strength and protection].
8 My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your glory all day long.
9 Do not cast me off in the time of old age; do not forsake me when my strength
[Powerfails.

Here are the truths listed in the verses above:

 1.     In Him we take refuge

2.     In His righteousness we are delivered

3.     He inclines His ear to us

4.     He rescues us

5.     He is a rock of strength

6.     He is our stronghold to save us

7.     He is our fortress [protection]

8.     He will lead and guide us

9.     He will pull us out of the net

10. He holds our spirit

11. He has ransomed us

12. He is truth

13. He is a rock of habitation [our safe dwelling place]

14. He rescues us from the hand of the wicked, wrongdoer and ruthless man

15. He is our hope

16. He is our confidence

17. He sustains us all of our days

18. He is our strong refuge

19. He does not forsake us in our weakness

A great declaration for us is from Psalm 71:8 which says, “My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your glory all day long.” The very ability to do this also comes from the Spirit.  May we ask Him today to give us His desire to walk in the Spirit of Power and may we yield our feeble strength to His might, so that we don’t walk in the pride of thinking we’re strong in and of ourselves, but in the humility that it is His strength and power that we have.

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
