10th December 2023: Our Daily deLIGHT~1st Day-Wisdom

We are continuing through the “Thirty Sayings of the Wise” from the book of Proverbs. We will focus on the ones that deal with our future. From these verses I will list the promises that are ours when we apply them.
Saying number 15: Proverbs 23:17-18; “17. Do not let your heart envy sinners, but live in the fear of YHVH [Chiasm of Wisdom] always. 18. Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.”
Saying number 22: Proverbs 24:5-6; “5. A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases power. 6. For by wise guidance [Counsel] you will wage war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.”
Saying number 26: Proverbs 24:13-14; “13. My son, eat honey, for it is good, yes, the honey from the comb is sweet to your taste; 14. Know that wisdom is thus for your soul; if you find it, then there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.”
Saying number 29: Proverbs 24:19-20; “19. Do not fret because of evildoers or be envious of the wicked; 20. For there will be no future for the evil man; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.”
There are promises of a future and a hope that will not be cut off when we:
- Do not envy sinners
- Fear YHVH always
- Obtain wisdom, knowledge, and wise counsel then we will be strong, increase power and wage wars with victory
- Eat wisdom as we would honey from the comb…this brings sweet success
- Don’t worry about or be envious of the wicked evildoers
In the book of Proverbs Solomon repeats quite a few times NOT to envy the wicked and evildoers because it will affect our future. What we weave today we will wear tomorrow.
In light of these verses let’s now read Jeremiah 29:10-14; “10 For thus says YHVH, ‘When seventy years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill My good [Tov] word to you, to bring you back to this place. 11 ‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares YHVH, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. 12 ‘Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 ‘You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 ‘I will be found by you,’ declares YHVH, ‘and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,’ declares YHVH, ‘and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.’”
We have the promise of a future and a hope!! It will be fully realized when our exile is over at the restoration of all things…in the meantime, we must let the Seven Spirits of YHVH light our path to that future.
