Wisdom

From the “Thirty Sayings of the Wise” in the book of Proverbs, we will focus on the Biblical house concept.

Saying number 21: Proverbs 24:3-4; “3 By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it [the house] is established; 4 And by knowledge the rooms [of the house] are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”

Proverbs 21:21 says, “There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling [the house] of the wise, but a foolish man swallows it up.” The foolish brings it to nothing through the choices that are made.

Deuteronomy 5:6 says, “‘I am YHVH your Elohim who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.” It is no small victory to be brought out of the house of slavery.  When we’re in bondage to anything, we do not experience the FREEDOM that is designed for the people of YHVH.  If we belong to YHVH that makes Him our Father and we are now part of His house.  Therefore, He makes every provision to free us from sin and bondages so that we can dwell with Him!!

When we were gathered at Sinai to receive the teachings and instructions (the commandments) from our heavenly Father, it was symbolic of being gathered in Papa’s house so that He could teach us His household rules. He demonstrated that which He wants us to imitate.  In Deuteronomy 6:7 we read, “You shall teach them [the commandments…the household rules] diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.” This is how we are to function within a family personally, congregationally, and eternally with our Creators.

When we are part of a family we carry the family name. I want to share a historical practice of Passover that was a natural manifestation of heavenly truth.  When the children of Israel would gather in Jerusalem for Passover, each family would put the family name around the neck of their lamb that they took to the Temple to be sacrificed. They did this to make sure they received their own lamb back for the Passover dinner.  When Yeshua was hung on the torture stake there was a sign put above His head in three languages, Hebrew, Latin and Greek. The Hebrew transliterated said, “Y’Shua HaNatzri V’Melech HaYehudim”, ‘Yeshua the Nazarene, the King of the Jews.”  When you take the first letter of each word it spelled “YHVH,” the Tetragrammaton for the name of our Elohim. Just like those who put their family name on their lamb for the sacrifice at the Temple, YHVH put His name on His Lamb for His family, which includes you and me! Now that is good news!!!

Joshua 24:15 says, “If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve YHVH, choose for yourselves TODAY whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve YHVH.”

By the Spirit of Wisdom, a house or family name is built, by understanding it is established and by knowledge the rooms are filled with precious and pleasant riches.  When we live by this we will walk in FREEDOM within the house of YHVH.
