Wisdom

The words within our Bibles are our wisdom!! But if we don’t pick it up to read it and then follow through with applying it, then we will resort to fleshly/carnal wisdom.  This type of wisdom is not from our Creator.  Paul addresses this in a second letter he wrote to the Congregation in Corinth while he was in Macedonia with Timothy.  This letter is a very personal letter where he tackles several subjects. Today we will read about the way Paul and Timothy responded during difficult situations.

2 Corinthians 1:12 says; “For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sinceritynot in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of Elohimwe have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you.”

If you go back and read the beginning of chapter one you will see how much Paul and Timothy suffered for the sake of the gospel.  By the time we get to verse twelve, he shares the wisdom of how they handled the great affliction that they were going through. They demonstrate much integrity and want the congregation to know how they have conducted themselves when enduring the suffering, as well as how they have conducted themselves toward them.  It was in holiness and godly sincerity.  He further clarified that this cannot be truly achieved with any kind of fleshly wisdom.  Only through godly wisdom which leads to the grace of Elohim.  This is a great pattern for us!!

How do we respond to situations that we find ourselves in?  Are we defensive and combative or do we take a breath and allow the Spirit to take control so that we will respond in godly wisdomsincerity and holiness?  If, in our times of prayer, we will ask for the grace of Elohim [the power and enablement to do His will], it will be supplied to us for every circumstance we find ourselves in; but we have to apply it in order to benefit from it.

James 3:13 says, “Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.”

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
