Fear of YHVH

Shabbat Shalom!! We look forward to worshipping the One who is worthy today!!

Today we will continue looking at what the rewards, requirements and promises are for those who Fear YHVH.

1 Peter 2:13-20 says,

13  Submit yourselves for the Master’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority,

14 or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.

15 For  such is the will of Elohim that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men.

16 Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of Elohim.

17  Honor all peoplelove the brotherhoodfear Elohimhonor the king.
18  Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are unreasonable.

19 For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward Elohim a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly.

20 For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure itthis finds favor with Elohim.”

A proper Fear of YHVH will be demonstrated through Biblical submission to authority.  It’s a direct reflection of our obedient heart toward our Creator and His desires.  The realization of this pattern is important to understand as we’ve been given the responsibility to accurately represent the heavenly truths through the relationships we’ve been given on earth.  We truly are pushed forward in favor when we walk in full trust that the Holy Spirit will guide our steps as we submit to those over us. However, to be balanced, this can only be done as long as we’re not being asked to break a commandment of Elohim; if we are, then we must obey Yah rather than man.  Peter, who wrote the verses above, was put in this position in Acts 5:27-32.   May His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

May we have a joyful Shabbat!!
