Wisdom

For those who’ve been believers for any length of time they have heard and/or read the verse in Proverbs 18:21 which says,  Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.  We know from Genesis 1 that there is power in the spoken word because the very world we live in exists because our Creator spoke it into existence.  We are created in the image of Elohim, therefore our words have power to create life or death.  In the garden Adam and Eve were told to eat freely from all the trees that had been planted except for the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. The Tree of Life was there also.  The serpent spoke to Eve and she received what he said and that led to the demise of all mankind.  Death came when they partook of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and they were cast out of the garden.  From that day forward the redemption plan of Elohim has been enacted to bring us back into the dwelling place that is ultimately designed for us.  This happens through obedience to the Word that was spoken and written down.  The Seven Spirits of YHVH  are given to us to enable us to obey and bring us back to the garden of our Creator.  As we read the verses today, their truths give us the wisdom we need to create life around us through the thoughts of our hearts and the words of our mouths.

Proverbs 10:19-21 says,

19 When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise.

20 The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver, the heart of the wicked is worth little.

21 The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of understanding.

Proverbs 17:27-28 says,

27 He who restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

28 Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is considered prudent [wise].

James 1:19-21 says,

 19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hearslow to speak and slow to anger;

  1. for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of Elohim.

21 Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

James 3:2-13 says,

2 For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.

3 Now if we put the bits into the horses’ mouths so that they will obey us, we direct their entire body as well.

4 Look at the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the inclination of the pilot desires.

5 So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire!

6 And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.

7 For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race.

8 But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison.

9 With it we bless our Master and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of Elohim;

10 from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way.

11 Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water?

12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.

13 Who among you is wise and understandingLet him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

Knowing that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit”, may we speak life into our situations by allowing the Spirit of Wisdom to direct our hearts!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
