Power

From time to time we can all have the temptation to grow weary in well doing.  Paul tells the congregation in Galatians 6:9, “ Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.” He also tells the congregation in Corinth the same thing in 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfastimmovablealways abounding in the work of Adonai, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Master.”  As I’m reading through the Bible in a year with the Torah portions in place, the verses below really caught my attention.  There are times, after a very busy feast season, that one can be tempted to collapse for lack of energy and strength.  However, as I’m reading with the Seven Spirits of YHVH as a focus, I am very encouraged that we do not have to stay in this place for any length of time.  In fact, if we develop our mindset to line up with the patterns in the Word and prepare ahead of time, the Father’s Spirit of Power is there to give us the strength and enablement that we need to keep and do all that He has required and actually be spiritually and physically STRONGER afterwards.

For those who have physical challenges in your body, this is not to bring condemnation and we pray that healing would come for all of us.  But this is for encouragement that there are examples that we can still be strong even in our older age; and although our bodies may be failing, our hearts and minds can remain strong toward the work of the Father and His ways.  Let’s now read what Joshua had to say about his strength even in his upper years.

Joshua 14:6-11 says,

6 Then the sons of Judah drew near to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know the word which YHVH spoke to Moses the man of Elohim concerning you and me in Kadesh-barnea.

7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of YHVH sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, and I brought word back to him as it was in my heart.

8 Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt with fear; but I followed YHVH my Elohim fully[He didn’t allow the people to persuade him from fully trusting that YHVH is well able to take the land through the children of Israel.]

9 So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land on which your foot has trodden will be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have followed YHVH my Elohim fully.’

10 Now behold, YHVH has let me live, just as He spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that YHVH spoke this word to Moses, when Israel walked in the wilderness; and now behold, I am eighty-five years old today.

11 I am still as strong today as I was in the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so my strength is now, for war and for going out and coming in.”

Deuteronomy 34:7 says, “Although Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eye was not dim, nor his vigor abated.”

This is the strength and Spirit of Power that we desire YHVH to give to each one of us as He did Joshua.  He didn’t give him this strength to do his own thing, but to accomplish what He called him to do…lead the children of Israel into the promise land and then possess it.  Grace and power have been given to each of us to accomplish His will.  May the Spirit of Power fill us with His strength so that we finish strong.  Chazak, Chazak V’Neet Chezek!! Be strong, be strong and may we be strengthened!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
