Power

If there is one thing we can learn from David in the Psalms, it is to acknowledge the attributes and truths of our Creator back to Him in song and prayer.  It serves as a reminder of His GREATNESS when we hear ourselves pray what is true concerning our heavenly Father.  It is of the utmost benefit for us to constantly remember the reality that our Elohim is all powerful and well able to reveal Himself to His creation by His strong arm. This discipline of ascribing His greatness can often generate a spirit of gratefulness within our hearts. A grateful heart is a free heart!!!  Not one wrapped up in itself, but one who trusts THE One who designed us to make His praise glorious.  When we praise Him it fills us with His peace and His power to trust Him in any and every circumstance we find ourselves in.

Psalm 65:1-13 says,

1   There will be silence before You, and praise in Zion, O Elohim, and to You the vow will be performed.

2   O You who hear prayer, to You all men come.
3    Iniquities prevail against me; as for our transgressions, You  forgive them.
4   How blessed is the one whom You choose and bring near to You to dwell in Your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness
[Tov] of Your house, Your holy temple. [Dwelling in His presence.]
5   By awesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, O Elohim of our salvation
[Yeshua], You who are the trust of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest  sea;
6   Who establishes the mountains by His strength
 [Power], being girded with might [Power];
7   Who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples.
8   They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe
[yârê’ the same word used for Fear of YHVH] of Your signs; you make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.
9   You visit the earth and cause it to overflow; You greatly enrich it; the  stream of Elohim is full of water; You prepare their grain, for thus You prepare the earth.
10 You water its furrows abundantly, You settle its ridges, You soften it with showersYou bless its growth
[The IVP commentary writes: This phrase relates to Yahweh’s creative power over watery chaos (as in Gen 1:2–10 and Ps 93:3)…as in the beginning when chaos covered

      the earth and He brought order out of that chaos. This is what the Father does in our lives as well.]
11 You have crowned the year with Your  bounty, and Your paths drip with fatness.
12  The pastures of the wilderness drip, and the hills gird themselves with rejoicing
[Production of food even in the wilderness]
13 The meadows are clothed with flocks and the valleys are covered with grain; they shout for joy, yes, they sing.
[Idiom for plenty of food from meat and grain.]

Allow these verses to serve as a pattern for prayer; and may our hearts be encouraged, as well as our faith built, that the favor that Elohim offers to both the earth and His people is for us to recognize and receive, because it is intended for us.  Because of His Spirit of Power we, too, can have strength and overcome with confidence, whatever we face!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
