18th January 2024: Our Daily deLIGHT~5th Day-Power

Power
No matter what we may face in our lives, we can cry out in prayer for His Power to get us through. Below is a pattern of how David petitioned the Father when there were those who rose up against him to take his life. When reading, let’s also take note of how he brought into remembrance the attributes of our heavenly Father. When His presence seems quiet or distant from us, may we remind ourselves of the true qualities of our Creator and that He NEVER changes!!! They’re absolute whether we feel it or not.
Psalm 86:14-17 says,
14 O Elohim, arrogant men have risen up against me, and a band of violent men have sought my life, and they have not set You before them.
15 But You, O YHVH, are an Elohim merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.
16 Turn to me, and be gracious to me; oh grant Your strength [Power] to Your servant, and save the son of Your handmaid.
17 Show me a sign for good [Tov], that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, because You, O YHVH, have helped me and comforted me.
David would not have asked for the things we’re about to read below had he not had his confidence in his Creator’s power to bring this about in his life. He knew it was not within himself to ascertain it. We, too, can and should pray this prayer when we find ourselves in a similar situation.
Psalm 25:16-18, 20-21 says,
16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses.
18 Look upon my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.
20 Guard my soul and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You.
David realized that he could not encounter the trials he found himself in without the strength of his Elohim, therefore he asked of Him!! We are designed in every area of our lives to look to our Creator for whatever we need at the moment and He will see to it either through His people or circumstances or supernatural means!! May we receive the Spirit of Power to be equipped for that which we face each and every day.
