Spirit of YHVH

1 John 4:7-13 says, 7  Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from Elohim; and everyone who loves is  born of Elohim and knows Elohim. 8 The one who does not love does not know Elohim, for Elohim is love. 9 By this the love of Elohim was manifested  in us, that Elohim has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved Elohim, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11  Beloved, if Elohim so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12  No one has seen Elohim at any time; if we love one another, Elohim abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. 13  By this [love for one another] we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.   What a mouth full of truth to take hold of!!!  The Spirit of YHVH abiding in us is the evidence that we are putting this into practice.  By way of reminder, Biblical love is covenant loyalty to Yah, His Word and each other. All who have received the sacrifice of Yeshua for sin, are in covenant with each other and therefore, we are to walk in love.

The writer of the book of Hebrews in chapter 10 continues from his previous chapters to clarify the very purpose of the original tabernacle and sacrifices that were made.  These pointed to the true and living sacrifice, Yeshua the Messiah and the heavenly tabernacle that will come down.  As we’ve mentioned a few times throughout this year, we must realize that the form and the method were actually giving us a function and a message and these are applicable to every generation.  They are eternal and never change.  As we read through the verses today, may the Spirit of YHVH reignite in us a fresh heart of gratefulness for the provisions He’s made to bring us back into covenant with Him and His people.

Hebrews 10:11-25 says,

11 Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; [Priests did not offer sacrifices sitting down, it was always while standing.]

12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF ELOHIM[Quoting Psalm 110:1.  We will give verses 1-3 which says, “YHVH says to my Master: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your

    feet.”  2 YHVH will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.” 3 Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power; In holy array, from the womb of the dawn, Your youth are to You as the dew.”]

13 waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET. [1 Corinthians 15:26 says the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.]

14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified[In the Greek it is being sanctified which means make holy, ceremonially purify.]

15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,

16 “THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS YHVH: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,” He then says, [How can something be written on our hearts and minds that Yeshua supposedly did away with?  It can be written because the laws of YHVH are eternal.  They have always been, even before being written down.  They are what governs the universe and will remain even if heaven and earth were not to remain. This is a great verse to actually validate that Yeshua came to free us from the penalty of sin or lawlessness through His blood, not from the law itself that guides us.]

17 “AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.” [If there is no law there is no sin.  But there is sin, therefore there is a law, i.e. the teachings and instructions of Elohim that defines what sin is. 1 John 3:4]

18 Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.

19 Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Yeshua,

20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh[Not through the flesh of dead animals that cannot raise into newness of life like Yeshua did.]

21 and since we have a great priest over the house of Elohim,

22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water[Hebrews 9:19-22; blood and water purified us.  It’s interesting to note that both blood and water flowed from Yeshua’s side at His death.]

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without waveringfor He who promised is faithful;

24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

Hebrews 13:1 says,  “Let love of the brethren continue.”

Romans 12:10-13 says,

10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;

11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Master;

12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,

13 contributing to the needs of the saints,  practicing hospitality.

1 Peter 1:22-23 says,

22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a  sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart,

23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of Elohim.

 May we consider if we are:

  1. Holding fast our confession without wavering
  2. Stimulating one another to love and good deeds
  3. Encouraging one another

The Spirit of YHVH is given to enable us and serves as a sign that we are abiding in Him and walking in these truths!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!

    I wish to thank you, HRN, for this devotional, Our Daily Delight. I noticed it for the first time earlier today, April 21, within my newsfeed. Is it possible to receive these by email, or in readable EBook for mat such as RTF or PDF? I reside in lower Michigan and am a fiction writer by avocation, semi-retired. Thanks so much!
