Spirit of YHVH
In Acts 5 the Holy Spirit revealed the greed and deception of Ananias and Sapphira when they kept back some of the money they had committed to the ministry. That was breaking a vow and ultimately stealing, as it no longer belonged to them once they verbally dedicated it to YHVH and sold the land. Following this, many signs and wonders were taking place at the hands of the apostles and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Portico. (Acts 5:12) There was a great uproar among the higher ups as they were filled with jealousy. They began to put the apostles in a public jail. BUT…during the night an angel of YHVH opened the prison bars, took them out of jail (imagine that happening to one of us) and said, “Go, stand and speak to the people in the temple the whole message of this Life.” (Acts 5:20) Afterward they were found in the temple doing exactly as they were instructed/counseled. Someone reported them and they were brought before the Council and the high priest questioned them. This is where we will pick up in Acts 5.
Acts 5:27-32 says, “27 After they brought them in, they had them stand before the Sanhedrin, and the high priest asked, 28 “Didn’t we strictly order you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to bring this man’s blood on us!” 29 But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey Elohim rather than men. 30 The Elohim of our fathers raised up Yeshua, whom you had murdered by hanging Him on a tree. 31 Elohim exalted this man to His right hand as ruler and Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. 32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom Elohim has given to those who obey Him.” [The Holy Spirit operating in one’s obedient life serves as a witness that Yeshua is the Messiah.]
Luke 24:46-49 says, “46 He also said to them, “This is what is written: The Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead the third day, 47 and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning [not remaining] at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And look, I am sending you what My Father promised. As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered, from on high.”
Hebrews 2:1-4 says, “1 For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty, 3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at the first spoken through Adonai, it was confirmed to us by those who heard, 4 Elohim also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.”
Romans 8:16-17 says, “16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of Elohim, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of Elohim and fellow heirs with Messiah, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.”
The Spirit of YHVH flows in an obedient life and is a witness to the whole message that Yeshua is the Messiah, has resurrected and is ruling at the right hand of the Father. The very life we live filled with the Spirit of YHVH is a testament to a true and living Elohim!! Blessings come with obedience!!!
