Spirit of YHVH
Below are very familiar verses to most of us. Psalm 51 was written by King David after his adultery with Bathsheba that led to murder and lying. David knew that the greatest punishment would be separation from His Creator; thus the wording in this Psalm. He did pay a great price for his sins, but his repentant heart kept him from the ultimate punishment of not having His Spirit.
Psalm 51:10-13 says,
10 Create in me a clean heart, O Elohim, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit.
13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will be converted to You.”
2 Kings 13:23 says, “But YHVH was gracious to them and had compassion on them and turned to them because of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them or cast them from His presence until now.”
Isaiah 63:14 says, “As the cattle which go down into the valley, the Spirit of YHVH gave them rest. So You led Your people, to make for Yourself a glorious name.”
May we value and cherish the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Psalm 51:10 is a great prayer for the one who may need the Holy Spirit to renew them with His presence and a steadfast spirit.
