Understanding

This week we’ll pick up where we left off from last week’s deLIGHT for the second day.  We looked at a set of verses containing the first and second use of the Hebrew root word for Understanding.  By way of reminder, the Hebrew word is Binah and the root word is Biyn.

This week we’ll look at the last use of this Hebrew word Biyn.   It is found in Micah 4:11-13.  Micah was a prophet to both the Northern and the Southern kingdoms.  He understood his calling and was ready to fulfill it.  Micah’s name means “who is like YHVH.”  As Micah goes out to these rebellious people his message is that “YHVH is coming forth from HIS place in judgment.”  This truly demonstrates a loving Elohim to send a prophet so that the opportunity to repent is given and can thwart the judgment due to a disobedient people. In turn, repentant Israel is strengthened and becomes the victor.

Micah 4:11-13; “11 But now many nations have assembled against you, saying, “Let her be defiled, and let us feast our eyes on Zion.” 12 But they do not know the thoughts of YHVH or understand [BiynHis plan: that He has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor. 13 Rise and thresh, O Daughter of Zion, for I will give you horns of iron and hooves of bronze [Iron and Bronze were used as implements to thresh grain] to break to pieces many peoples.  Then you will devote their gain to YHVH, their wealth to Adonai of all the earth.”

Oh the need to understand the covenant loyalty of Israel’s Elohim to His purpose, His people and His plan!! Yeshua our Messiah, while on this earth, spoke often of a coming judgment and gathering of HIS people.  Matthew 24 is just one example of this.  It really is a great and terrible day of YHVH; great for those who prepare and terrible for those who do not.  1 Chronicles 12:32a says, “32 From the Issacharites, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do:” His people are shown what is necessary in order to be prepared; we can trust our heavenly Father reveals what we need to understand and do at the perfect time!!

May we recognize the “Issachars” of our day!! We will discern, as well as not be taken off track, if we understand the patterns and principles of how our heavenly Father lives and moves and has His being!!  We will be prepared and found safely in the “barn” after the harvest.

Shalom & Blessings,
