In the Greco-Roman world to be a slave to a high ranking official was an honor and thought to be better than those who walked about as free people. Paul is appealing to this knowledge of their society when he calls himself a slave of Yeshua….the highest-ranking “official”. He is letting these people know that it is very honorable to be a slave of the Messiah that he preaches.
