Counsel
It’s vital that we allow the Spirit of Counsel to light up our hearts so that we will be able to clearly see what we need to understand from the past, in the present and for the future.
Amos 3:6-7; “6 If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not YHVH done it? 7 Surely YHVH Elohim does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets.” Those who are called to understand the prophetic Scriptures will be able to discern the times that we are in and let others know. But our hearts have to be in a position to first understand and receive that YHVH is the One giving it to the one who will pass on the Spirit of Counsel. If we’re an island to ourselves we will miss it. We need one another and all the giftings!!
Daniel 9:20-23 is an example of a time when the Father used the messenger Gabriel to give Daniel the counsel he needed. Pay attention to the posture Daniel was in when the Spirit of Counsel was given to him. “20 Now while I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before YHVH my Elohim in behalf of the holy mountain of my Elohim, 21 while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.[3:00 prayer time] 22 He gave me instruction and talked [counseled] with me and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding. 23 “At the beginning of your supplications the command was issued, and I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed; so give heed [receive the counsel] to the message and gain understanding of the vision.”
Notice below how Daniel came before the Father at about the appointed time of prayer:
- Confessing His sin
- Confessing the sins of his people
- Presenting His supplications (to stoop in kindness, graciousness)
- Extreme weariness (The Hebrew word Ya’aph is used twice in the scroll…that lets us know that his weariness wasn’t a common weary, but on another whole level)
After all of the above Daniel received exactly what he needed to know.
Moving forward to the B’rit Chadasha in John 15:15 Yeshua speaking; “No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
We can be assured, if we are in Yeshua and obey the commandments, He will make known (Spirit of Counsel) to us all things we need to know.
Let’s be ALL IN for it leads to the Spirit of Counsel that leads to LIFE!!
Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
