Knowledge

Happy Preparation Day for the weekly Shabbat!!!!  May it be filled with the presence of our King!!

Today we’re going to look at some verses in 2 Timothy 2.  Verses 14-16 says, “14 Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of Elohim not to wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Elohim as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth [Truth comes through True Knowledge]. 16 But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,”

Verses 19-26 says, 19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of Elohim stands, having this seal, “Adonai knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of Yeshua is to abstain from wickedness.  20 Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. 22 Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on Adonai from a pure heart. 23 But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels. 24 Yeshua’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps Elohim may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

Paul is giving Timothy the knowledge he needs to be a leader that teaches others how to be vessels of honor in the kingdom.  Paul is very clear in his instruction and he has firsthand knowledge what these actions lead too.  These patterns are also there to help us examine our own hearts so that we can apply this knowledge in our lives.

In these verses Paul’s Instructions to Timothy are:

  1. Do not wrangle about words because it’s useless and ruins the hearers
  2. Be diligent to be approved before Elohim
  3. Handle the truth/knowledge accurately
  4. Avoid worldly and empty chatter as it leads to further ungodliness
  5. Abstain from wickedness
  6. Cleanse and sanctify ourselves in order to be a vessel of honor
  7. Flee youthful lusts
  8. Pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace from a pure heart
  9. Refuse foolish and ignorant speculations
  10. Do not be quarrelsome
  11. Be Kind
  12. Able to teach
  13. Patient when wronged
  14. Gentlycorrect those in opposition

If we will yield to this Spirit of knowledge we will be a vessel of honor that comes to our senses, who receives the knowledge of the truth, so that we may escape from the snares of the devil and in turn lead others to do so.

Have a blessed and shalom filled preparation day!!!
