Power

King David had a love and a passion to provide a permanent place for the
presence of YHVH to dwell. He prepared for such a place though he never got
to experience it.  He passed his passion on to his son and to the people to
help prepare it as well.

1 Chronicles 29 gives a great synopsis of the preparation for the Temple to be built.  While we read about the form and the method let’s also connect to the function and the message so that we can apply these principles in our lives.

1 Chronicles 29:9-13; “9 Then the people rejoiced because they had offered so willingly, for they made their offering to YHVH with a whole heart, and King David also rejoiced greatly. 10 So David blessed YHVH in the sight of all the assembly; and David said, “Blessed are You, O YHVH Elohim of Israel our father, forever and ever.  11 “Yours, O YHVH, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O YHVH, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. 12 “Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might;  and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. 13 “Now therefore, our Elohim, we thank You, and praise Your glorious name.”

When the people WILLINGLY and with a WHOLE heart gave to YHVH through the system He provided, the response of King David was blessing the One to whom it truly came from…YHVH!! Notice as he prayed how many times David used the word and the synonyms for the Spirit of Power to honor Elohim.

1. Power ~ 2x

2. Victory

3. Might

4. Strengthen

It’s a powerful prayer coming from an exuberant heart!!! The principle we can draw from today is that we should give willingly and with a whole heart and understand that our very ability and power to give comes from YHVH. David also set a GREAT example of what our response should be and that is to acknowledge the power and the greatness of THE One who enables us to give!!

The One who has the power fills us with His power!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
