Understanding

Live out, practice, rehearse…three ways of saying the same thing. As we come to understand the ways of our Creator, we realize that the only way we will truly discern or understand between good and evil is to train our senses.  This can only happen when we put into practice the words from the pages of our Scriptures.  It will bring a level of maturity to our walk that allows what is in heaven to be on earth.  As we read the verses selected for today, may the Spirit of Understanding grant us the ability to be inspired and move forward.

Hebrews 5:14 says,

But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern [understandgood and evil.

Hebrews 6:1-3 says,

1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Messiah, let us press on to  maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward Elohim,

2 of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.

3 And this we will do, if Elohim permits. [The writer of Hebrews is admonishing that we must move forward in our walk as believers in the Messiah.  Once we have repented and received Yeshua’s redemption price, then we must move forward in maturity from “Egypt” to the mountain and learn how to live as redeem people and put it into practice.  When we do this we are walking toward the promise land in better understanding of the purpose and plan of Elohim.]

Philippians 3:15-17 says,

15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect [mature], have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, Elohim will reveal that also to you; [We can trust that our heavenly Father will reveal to His children what is pleasing to Him, as well as what is not, when we seek to understand and inquire of His ways.]

16 however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained. [Don’t look back to the former way of life…move forward.]

17 Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us[We are to live a life that will inspire others, while at the same time be inspired by those who live according to the Word.]

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
