Counsel

We should often be reminded that the Seven Spirit of YHVH, which are found in Isaiah 11:1-3, are of the upmost importance to a believer desiring to walk an upright life that pleases our Heavenly Father. Each day we come before Him in prayer it would be of great value to our walk to pray that we be filled and directed by these Seven Spirits of the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh).  As we do, the definitions to each of these Spirits of YHVH will expand in its meaning and understanding. The Spirit of Counsel can be understood, as we’ve mentioned before, as counsel, advice, advise, plan, etcbut it can also by definition include the words commandsinstructionslisteningorders, etc especially in context to walking out and heeding the counsel that the commandments give. This is being filled with the Spirit of Counsel. In this context we’ll continue looking at what the Scripture teaches about the wise versus the fool.

Proverbs 10:8 says; “The wise of heart will receive commands [Heed Counsel], but a babbling fool [literal translation: the foolish of lips…meaning: with his words] will be ruined.”

Matthew 7:24-27 Yeshua says, “24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them [takes the counsel], may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them [does not take the counsel], will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 “The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” Yeshua is giving both sides of the truth…the one who takes counsel will dwell securely on the rock and the one who does not will fall away.

Proverbs 9:8 says, “Give instruction [counsel] to a wise man and he will be still wiser, teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.”

A Great Promise

Isaiah 48:12-16 says,

12 Listen [Heed Counselto Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called; I am He, I am the first, I am also the last. 13 “Surely My hand founded the earth, and My right hand spread out the heavens; When I call to them, they stand together[An earthly pattern of a heavenly truth] 14Assemble, all of you, and listen[Gather and Heed CounselWho among them has declared these things? YHVH loves him; he will carry out His good pleasure on Babylon, And His arm will be against the Chaldeans.[A pattern of defeating our enemies, regardless of who or what they are…if we heed counsel/listen.] 15“I, even I, have spoken; indeed I have called him, I have brought him, and He will make his ways successful. 16“Come near to Me, listen [Heed Counselto this: From the first I have not spoken in secret, From the time it took place, I was there. And now YHVH Elohim has sent Me, and His Spirit.”

In verse 13 you see that heaven and earth stand together.  The Father YHVH and Yeshua His Son stand together. In verse 16 Isaiah is standing together with the Father and His Spirit to come and tell Israel to assemble/stand together and listen/take counsel (verse 14) because our Creators desire to deliver us from our enemies, spirit, soul and body as well as make our ways successful; but this can only happen if we stand together and take the counsel given in the Word.

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
