22nd April 2024: Our Daily deLIGHT~2nd Day-Understanding
Understanding
The second Spirit listed in Isaiah 11:1-2 is the Spirit of Understanding. It’s the Hebrew word Binah. Its meaning is to distinguish, attend, consider, diligently, look well to…just to name a few. Another word used for this Hebrew word is discernment. Discernment and understanding go hand in hand.
Adding to our wisdom, Proverbs 4:7 says, “The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; and with all your acquiring, get understanding.”
Psalm 119:104, “From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.” We get our correct understanding from the Scriptures. That is why we need to read our Bibles daily so that we can understand the ways of the kingdom and in turn bear fruit in our lives.
Colossians 1:9-13, “9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking Elohim to fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,(notice why in the upcoming verses) 10 so that you may walk in a manner worthy of Adonai and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of Elohim, 11 being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have full endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Great truths to embrace and walk in!! This is our prayer for each of us!! If you’re able, we suggest re-reading or memorizing these verses so that we can really get them in our spirits.
