Spirit of YHVH

To yield to the Spirit of YHVH each and every day is vital to our spiritual walk.  It is what leads and joins us to every facet of that which is eternal.  Without the Spirit actively functioning in our lives we will walk aimlessly in the foolishness of our own reasoning.  It literally takes seconds just to pause and consider what is the leading of the Spirit.  This simple pause can keep us out of unnecessary conflicts and afflictions that we can bring on ourselves through hastiness.  Paul mentions in his letters the idea of having fellowship of the Spirit as well as each other.  The meaning of the word fellowship is the Greek word κοινωνία koinōnia.  It is Strong’s number 2842. A few of the meanings of κοινωνία koinōnia are: fellowship, association, community, communion, joint participation.  With that in mind let’s read what the Scripture has to say about this.

2 Corinthians 13:14 says,

14 The grace of the Master Yeshua Messiah, and the love of Elohim, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. [It appears that Paul is showing the oneness of the manifestations of our Creator through His Son and His Spirit, which He gave on the day of Pentecost/Shavuot.]

Philippians 2:1-4, 14-18 says,

1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Messiah, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,

2 make my joy complete by being of the same mindmaintaining the same loveunited in spiritintent on one purpose.

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;

15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of Elohim above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,

16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Messiah I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

17 But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.

18 You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me.

The first use of the Greek word koinonia is found in Acts 2:42 which is a pattern for the believer when they gather together.  This establishes the usage of this Greek word which shows the necessity to fellowship, to be in community and to be in unity, in order to survive.

“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and  to prayer.”

A verse in Exodus 26:6 perfectly demonstrates the concept koinonia in the Greek through the Hebrew word ḥâḇar חָבַר.  Habar is from the Strong’s number 2266 and means: to unite, join, bind together, be joined, be coupled, be in league, heap up, have fellowship with, be compact.  Everything YHVH did in the tabernacle here on earth was for a visible representation of a spiritual truth for His people.

“You shall make fifty clasps of gold [symbolic of deity…Elohim], and join the curtains to one another with the clasps so that the tabernacle will be a unit.”

We are that tabernacle that He is building to dwell in; therefore we are to be joined togetherunited in spiritintent on one purpose “with gold” or in other words to YHVH through salvation of Yeshua by the Spirit of YHVH.  We could go on and on with verse after verse that shows these truths that are within the pages of our Bible, but suffice it to say that when we have true Biblical fellowship with the Spirit of YHVH AND His people there is a bond that cannot be broken and will see us all the way through to eternity TOGETHER.

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
