Counsel

The Spirit of Counsel is multifaceted.  We can be on the receiving end and on the giving end of counsel.  This will be the case all the days of our lives.  All counsel that we give and take should be based on biblical patterns.  As we read and study the words from the Scriptures they begin to counsel us and give us the way in which we should lead others too.  Today we will look at a type of counselor found in the book of Proverbs that could serve us well in the day in which we live.  It is the counselor of peace. Anxiety is at an all time high and true peace only comes from the Prince of Peace… Yeshua the Messiah and His way of life found in the Torah (teachings and instructions).  As we read the verses below may we meditate on them so that they will be imparted into our hearts and minds and readily available to share with others who may need us to be a counselor of peace to them.  Our reward for becoming this? Joy!! 😊

Proverbs 12:20 says,

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but counselors of peace have joy.

Psalm 85:8, 10 says

8    I will hear what Elohim YHVH will say; for He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones; but let them not turn back to folly.

10 Lovingkindness and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Isaiah 32:17-18 says,

17 And the work of righteousness will be peace, and the service of righteousness, quietness [this Hebrew word is a synonym for peaceand confidence forever.
18 Then my people will live in a peaceful habitation, and in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places;

Isaiah 26:1-3 says,

1 In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city; He sets up walls and ramparts for security.

2 “Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter, the one that remains faithful.

3 “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.

Colossians 3:15 says,

Let the peace of Messiah rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.

John 14:27 Yeshua says,

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

By way of reminder, in the Hebrew understanding of Shalom/Peace there is a greater meaning than just the absence of fear.  It means peace, tranquility, safety, well-being, welfare, health, contentment, success, comfort, wholeness and integrity.  May we allow the Spirit of Counsel to help us become counselors of peace to those who are walking upright; and to those who lack peace but need to return to the righteous path, may our counsel first lead them back to the Prince of Peace, Yeshua the Messiah and the other will follow.  Either way, joy is the result!!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
