Understanding

There are times that misunderstandings happen.  When we don’t understand what someone is saying, or more than that, what they mean, a misunderstanding can take place.  That’s why it’s very important to get clarification and ask questions to help with our understanding.  Another reason this can happen is a language barrier.  Let’s dive into the Scriptures and see how, when and why we ended up with the different languages of the world.

Genesis 11:1-9 says, “1 Now the whole earth used the same language and the same words. 2 It came about as they journeyed east [In the Hebrew it says, “They travelled from the east.”], that they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. 3 They said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly.” And they used brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar. 4 They said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” 5 YHVH came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 YHVH said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have the same language. And this is what they began to do, and now nothing which they purpose to do will be impossible for them. [The principle of unity/echad is universal.  There is power in unity.  However, when unity is done in order “make a name for ourselves” the Father intervenes and foils it as He will not share His glory with another.  If we walk in unity for the purpose of making YHVH’s name great, He will enable us.  This is actually His purpose for His creation.] 7 “Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language so that they will not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So YHVH scattered them abroad from there over the face of the whole earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 Therefore its name was called Babel because there YHVH confused the language of the whole earth [He took the ability to understand one another globally.]; and from there YHVH scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

We often hear about “The Restoration of All Things”, not surprisingly, one of the things that will be restored is the unity of the language.

Zephaniah 3:8-13 says,

 “8 “Therefore wait for Me,” declares YHVH,

“For the day when I rise up as a witness.

            Indeed, My decision is to gather nations,

            To assemble kingdoms,

            To pour out on them My indignation,

            All My burning anger;

            For all the earth will be devoured

            By the fire of My zeal.

 9 “For then I will give to the peoples one pure language[The Hebrew language that was originally spoken]

            That all of them may call on the name of YHVH[Glorify YHVH and not themselves.]

            To serve Him shoulder to shoulder[To serve alongside of YHVH]

 10 “From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia

            My worshipers, My dispersed ones,

            Will bring My offerings[It is through our offerings that He allows us to draw near to Him…Leviticus 1]

11 “In that day you will feel no shame

            Because of all your deeds

            By which you have rebelled against Me;

            For then I will remove from your midst

            Your proud, exulting ones,

            And you will never again be haughty

            On My holy mountain.

 12 “But I will leave among you

            A humble and lowly people,

            And they will take refuge in the name of YHVH[Connect back to verse 9]

13 “The remnant of Israel will do no wrong

            And tell no lies,

            Nor will a deceitful tongue

            Be found in their mouths;

            For they will feed and lie down

            With no one to make them tremble.”

Zephaniah 3 is the reversal of what happened in Genesis 11.  This IS GOOD/TOV news!!!  All of our misunderstandings will be removed as we will speak the same language with the same heart!! Romans 15:5-6 says, “5 Now may the Elohim who gives perseverance [the ability to overcomeand encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Messiah Yeshua, 6 so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the Elohim and Father of our Lord Yeshua Messiah.” It is once again confirmed why we are to be in complete unity, in order to glorify our Messiah and His Father.  May the Spirit of Understanding be imparted to the remnant of Israel!!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled day,

Tammy
