Knowledge

Happy Preparation Day for the weekly Shabbat!!!!  May it be filled with the presence of our King as we prepare to enter into Shabbat and worship of Him!!

The Sovereignty of our heavenly Father oversaw and orchestrated the coming together of the Bible that we hold in our hands.  We can fully trust and know that what we have is exactly what we need to govern our lives.  This is not discounting the necessity to know historical context and setting in order to better understand the meaning of our Scriptures, but even in that we trust His direction.  He will see to it that we are led in such a way so that we continue to be transformed into the image of our Messiah.  Today we will look at a few verses where the apostle Paul repeatedly writes to the congregations he oversaw exhorting them and exampling before them how to live among one another in gentleness and unity.  May the Spirit of Knowledge impart to us a desire and ability to walk in these principles we’re about to explore.

Philippians 4:1-9 says,

1 Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown [the concept that they are his reward], in this way stand firm in Adonai, my beloved.
2 I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to  live in harmony in Adonai.
[to be unity among the brethren]

3 Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
4  Rejoice in Adonai always; again I will say, rejoice!

5 Let your gentle spirit [gentle, patient, mild] be known to all men. Adonai is near. [Our Messiah is near to His people…He never leaves us or forsakes us.]

6  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to Elohim.

And the peace of Elohimwhich surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Messiah Yeshua.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the Elohim of peace will be with you.

Titus 3:1-2 says,

1 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,

2 to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.

1 Thessalonians 2:7-8 says,

7 But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children.

Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of Elohim but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us.

Proverbs 15:1 says,

gentle answer turns away wrath, but a  harsh word stirs up anger.

When we know and apply the Word to our lives we gain the peace that passes all understanding.

From the verses above let’s list the principles being taught:

  1. Stand firm in Yeshua
  2. Live in harmony
  3. Be true companions to one another
  4. Share in the struggle with others to help one another through it
  5. Double rejoice
  6. Let our gentle spirit be known to ALL men
  7. Yeshua is near to us
  8. Be anxious for nothing
  9. In prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make our requests known to Elohim
  10. Peace will guard our hearts and minds in Yeshua if we do these things
  11. Whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things
  12. Practice these things
  13. Submit to authority
  14. Malign no one
  15. Be peaceable, gentle, showing consideration for all men
  16. Be fond of others
  17. Impart the gospel and our lives to others

Have a blessed and shalom filled preparation day!!!
