Knowledge

It’s preparation day for the Shabbat and with that in mind, I want to share from a recent Torah portion pertaining to the building of the Tabernacle…the dwelling place for the presence of Yah.  In Exodus 31:1-5; “1. Now YHVH spoke to Moses, saying, 2. “See, I have called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 3. “I have filled him with the Spirit of Elohim in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, 4. to make artistic designs for work in gold, in silver, and in bronze, 5. and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in the carving of wood, that he may work in all kinds of craftsmanship.”

This tabernacle that the Father is showing Bezalel and Oholiab to build cannot be done according to the pattern without the Spirit of Elohimwisdomunderstanding& knowledge. Four of the seven Spirits are listed that they will need.  However, if we stop and think about the fact there are instructions given as well as the level of responsibility that will be needed from the Father, we also see that the Spirit of Counsel is there, though not explicitly mentioned.  It will take the Spirit of Power to accomplish such a monumental task and the Fear of YHVH to understand that they are building something that will house the Presence of Elohim.  This would motivate them to follow through because they believe and reverence His Name.

Colossians 3:5-10 says; “5. Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. 6. For it is because of these things that the wrath of Elohim will come upon the sons of disobedience, 7. and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. 8. But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. 9. Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, 10. and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him.”

We’ve mentioned before about true knowledge from Peter’s perspective.  Now we have Paul referring to true knowledge to the congregation in Colossae.  The true knowledge is that we, the tabernacle made without hands, are to come into the image of the One who created us.  The deeds of the flesh listed is a false knowledge that keeps the presence of Elohim from residing in and among us.

As it says in Isaiah 46:10, we will know the end from the beginning.  May we connect the patterns that are taking place in Exodus 31 and in Colossians 3 and realize that though the form and method have changed, the function and the message have not.  It can be confirmed today how important it is that we receive and walk in the Spirit of TRUE Knowledge so that we become a dwelling place for our Creator King.

Have a blessed and shalom filled preparation day!!!
