Power

There are things we go through in life that we know we cannot endure unless the Spirit gives us the strength or power to do so.  An often quoted verse is VERY comforting and true when we are going through difficult times. It is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Messiah who gives me strength [power].” We were not designed to have the power to overcome outside of the Spirit’s power.  Our very breath to even live comes from our Creator; therefore, He’s designed us to draw from Him the power we need in everything that pertains to this life.

Roman 15:13-19; “13. Now may the Elohim of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  14. I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, brimming with knowledge, and able to instruct one another. 15. However, I have written you a bold reminder on some points, because of the grace Elohim has given me 16. to be a minister of Messiah Yeshua to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of Elohim, so that the Gentiles might become an acceptable offering to Elohim, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. 17. Therefore I exult in Messiah Yeshua in my service to Elohim. 18. I will not presume to speak of anything except what Messiah has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obedience by word and deed, 19. by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of YHVH. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Messiah.”

Paul, after coming to faith in Yeshua, spoke and lived his life in order to lead people into the Kingdom of Elohim.  He made a shortlist here in Romans 15 of how he proclaimed the gospel [good news] of Yeshua:

  1. Obedience by word and deed
  2. The power of signs and wonders
  3. By the power of the Holy Spirit

Paul knew that it was not in his own power that he could do anything, but it was only through the power of the Holy Spirit, and he led others to understand this truth as well.

1 Corinthians 2:2-5 affirms this, “2. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Yeshua Messiah and Him crucified. 3. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4. My message and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5. so that your faith would not rest on men’s wisdom, but on Elohim’s power.”

We CAN do ALL things through Messiah who strengthens [gives us the power] us!!

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
