25th April 2023: Our Daily deLIGHT~3rd Day-Counsel

Counsel
The third Spirit listed in Isaiah 11:1-2 is the Spirit of Counsel. It’s the Hebrew word Etzah, Strong’s Number 6098. Its meaning is advice, plan, counsel…just to name a few. In Scripture we will see the words Advice, to Advise, Plan used for this Hebrew word. So, Counsel, Advice or to Advise and Plan go hand in hand when reading the Scriptures.
The first use of the Hebrew word Etzah is found in Deuteronomy 32:28; we will add verse 29 as well. This is from the song of Moses. YHVH said these words concerning Egypt, “28 For they are a nation lacking in counsel, and there is no understanding in them. 29 Would that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would discern their future!”
Notice how once again, counsel is tying back to understanding which was the 2nd day and wisdom which was the 1st day. All three Spirits of Elohim that we’ve had thus far are shown lacking in the nation of Egypt; and we see what their outcome was…destruction in the Red Sea (Sea of Reeds). However, for us, we can learn what NOT to do from this AND how necessary these Spirits are in order for us to have the blessings that are intended for those who surrender our lives to the Spirit of our Creator, YHVH and His Son, Yeshua.
The most common verse we often hear, and it is very true, is from Proverbs 11:14, “Where there is no counsel the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” We also see a pattern of ME becoming WE. The first part of this verse lets us know that when we try to do it on our own, we fall. We are not designed to do it alone. So when we have wise counsel in our lives that means we will not fall, but stand upright…succeed. This is one more “body working together” truth!!!
