Happy Preparation Day for the weekly Shabbat!!!!  May it be filled with the presence of our King!!

Today we’re going to look at some verses in 1Timothy 1:3-7.  It says, “3. As I urged you upon my departure for Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines, 4. nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of Elohim which is by faith. 5. But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6. For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, 7. wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.”

There is a great documentary called “Patterns of Evidence: The Moses Controversy”.  One of the things that struck us greatly was that most of the “Scholars”, the “Educated Ones” that were interviewed, had a Christian background.  After attending college and getting out in the field, they ended up with a wrong paradigm and seeking knowledge that ultimately ended up disputing the truth and sound doctrine. They all claim to be Agnostic now.  Their mentality was that if they couldn’t reconcile the information then it must not be true.  What they all had in common, and not one mentioned it when interviewed, is that they didn’t mix seeking knowledge with FAITH!!  There are some things we believe by FAITH because the Word says it, even if it can’t be proven yet in science or archeology.  The Father will always have His knowledge/truth mixed with faith.

Paul pleads with the believers in Romans 16:17-20; “17. Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those [Be a watchman] who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 18. For such men are slaves, not of our Master Yeshua but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 19. For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil20. The Elohim of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.  The grace of our Master Yeshua be with you.”

Here are just two examples, one at Ephesus to Timothy and one for the brethren in Rome, that we must be careful what knowledge we seek.  This is the beauty of being FULL of the Spirit and walking in the POWER of the Spirit, it will shed light on what is sound and what is strange doctrine. These verses are a good grid for us to use to be able to stay within Biblical Boundaries.

Let’s summarize them:

  1. Instruct men not to teach strange doctrines
  2. Don’t pay attention to myths and endless genealogies
  3. This raises mere speculation and doesn’t further Yah’s administration
  4. It is by Faith
  5. The goal of right knowledge/instruction is:
  6. Love from a pure heart
  7. A good conscience
  8. Sincere FAITH
  9. Don’t stray to fruitless discussions
  10. This leads to no understanding in what they’re saying or in matters about with they make confident assertions

With access to so MUCH knowledge at our fingertips, it’s imperative that we stay in THE book, the Bible, yielded to the Spirit of YHVH’s knowledge, so that we may accurately discern what is sound and what is strange.

Have a blessed and shalom filled preparation day!!!
