Understanding

Each feast has a past, present and future message.  The fall feasts specifically are a prophetic portent of the return of Yeshua for His bride and the gathering of His people to Himself.  With that, it helps to understand what the Word says about our Creator, Yeshua the Messiah and the commandments so that we can be among that number. Yesterday we shared from Romans 12:9-16. A few of the things mentioned in those verses were: being devoted to one another in brotherly love, giving preference to one another in honor and rejoicing in one another. Today we will look at some more fitting verses to help us understand the heart of the Father, so that transformation can be had in the areas that we need the change.

Proverbs 16:20-22 says,

20 He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed [Happy] is he who trusts in YHVH.
21 The wise in heart will be called understanding, and sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness
[Persuasiveness here means learning.  When our speech is sweet we stand a better chance to gain a hearing with those we are trying to reach.  Condescending tones, arrogance and hatefulness will usually shut a person down from hearing what is being said.]

22 Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has itbut the discipline [The practice] of fools is folly. [The concept of folly in the Hebrew is: one who despises wisdom, one who mocks when guilty in their own lives or family or one who is quarrelsome.  But the one with the Spirit of Understanding will be life giving water to others.  Beware of those spewing poison!!]

Hosea 14:9 says, “Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of YHVH are rightand the righteous will walk in thembut transgressors will stumble in them.”

Proverbs 10:10-13 says,

10 He who winks the eye causes trouble, and  a babbling fool will be ruined[Babbling has the concept of running water.  So the idea of a babbling fool is one who is running off at the mouth.]
11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
[Conversely, the mouth or words of the righteous is a fountain of life…it is nourishment to the soul.]
12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all transgressions
[Meaning Love covers by forgiveness and mercy.  This is not the concept of hiding sin that needs to be dealt with; yet being wise to not air someone’s dirty laundry that has been repented of.]
13On the lips of the discerning
[Understanding]wisdom is found, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks understanding[Correction and discipline will come to the one who is foolish and refuses to walk in understanding.  How do we know if one doesn’t have understanding? The mouth will give it away.]

May we surrender to the Spirit of Understanding today in these areas and respond with sweet speech in order to be a cool refreshing drink to a dry and thirsty soul.

Have a blessed and shalom filled day!!
